A Hippogryph is a cross between a gryphon and a horse...
They symbolise impossibility and love
There's an old (very old) saying that goes "Jungentur jam grypes equis" which means "to cross gryphons with horses" which means the same as "when Pigs fly"
Hippogryphs are the most rare species of gryphs that still exist
